At UMA, wood is chosen with intention — for its beauty, strength, and the story it carries.

We work exclusively with Grade A wood, selected for its superior density, stability, and longevity. All our wood is sourced only from Java, Indonesia, a region renowned for its deep woodworking heritage and long-standing expertise in sustainable forest management.

Our commitment is clear: we use wood that meets the highest quality standards while respecting natural resources. By working with trusted local suppliers and regulated plantations, we ensure that every log is harvested responsibly, with replanting and long-term ecosystem preservation at the core of the process.

Once selected, the wood is carefully dried and conditioned to adapt to both indoor and outdoor environments. Each piece is then cut, shaped, and assembled by skilled craftsmen who respect the natural grain, allowing subtle variations to express the material’s authentic character.

Finishing is done by hand, using techniques that enhance durability while preserving the warmth and texture of the wood. The result is furniture that feels solid yet refined, timeless yet contemporary.
